Formed in 1975 (that's right....1975!), the Sioux Falls band Wakefield toured extensively in the 1980's, performing as many as 267 dates a year (that's over 5 days per week, every week of the year!).  They toured an area from Colorado to Illinois, and Canada to Kansas and released the Wakefield album in 1983.  They disbanded in 1987 at the height of their popularity.  In 1997, they were coaxed into performing a 10 year reunion concert that was so successful, they began arranging a yearly reunion concert somewhere in SD each summer when Evan returned home to visit family during summer vacations.

In 2011 Evan returned to live in SD after 20+ years living abroad.  All the original members (Geoff Gunderson, Dave Horan, Jeff Koller, Evan Jones) are now living in SD.  Athough each member is busy with various other projects, this original line-up of Wakefield has begun reuniting and performing more frequently for special events around the area.

If you were one of their many fans, then you will want to attend one of their current events.  If you were not priviledged enough to see them in the 1980's, then you will want to catch a glimpse of what it was like by getting to one of their performances today.
